Why I built ForWhen
Hi, I'm Luan. I'm a developer in Brazil, and I build ForWhen on my own. I'm also the founder of MandaFoto, which gathers guests' photos from an event with one QR code.
It started with paper letters
I like open when letters. You write a stack of envelopes for someone who's about to leave, one for each moment: open when you miss me, open when you can't sleep, open when you get the job. They open the right one when the moment comes. It works because you thought about their hard nights before they happened.
But paper has limits. A letter can't carry your voice. The envelopes have to travel with them or go through the mail, which is slow once they're far away. And nothing keeps an envelope shut until its day except willpower.
So I built the version I wanted
ForWhen keeps what's good about paper and fixes those parts. You write 3 to 8 letters, and each one can have a photo and a voice note. They open from one private link on their phone, wherever they are, with no app and no account. Letters for a date stay sealed until that day in their time zone.
Your real voice is the heart of ForWhen. Reading "I miss you" isn't the same as hearing it. So every voice note is really you, and ForWhen never uses AI voices or writes letters for you. Each voice note also has a text version under the player, for when they can't play sound.
A gift costs $9.99, once. There's no subscription, and we never sell your data or use your letters to train AI. The privacy page has the details.
